All of us want to feel the work we do contributes to bettering our clients and the communities we all chose to call home. At Holmes Riseley, our dedication to improving the lives of those less fortunate is a core part of our beliefs. We take our commitment seriously and are involved in several programs throughout the year to give back.
But our commitment goes beyond just showing up a few times a year – it’s a practice we work towards daily to make progress in shaping our community. Our team members regularly contribute to:
- Board Director positions on various community associations
- In-person volunteer hours at local community groups on a monthly basis; and
- Mentorship of youth and young professionals

On average, our team dedicates more than 10 hours each month to programs and organizations in the area. In addition to these volunteer hours, our commitment to community ensures staff members are trained in how to best serve and support the most vulnerable members of our community.
If you are interested in learning about these organizations or wish to contribute through our work, please give us a call today.
One Roof
Our team closes the office to work at One Roof, where we meet with dedicated volunteers and staff members to prepare a meal to serve.
We provide the groceries for the meal and work with the team to prepare it for those in need. In addition, a cash contribution is made to support the on-going work provided by this organization.

Big Brothers, Big Sisters
Our commitment to Big Brothers, Big Sisters goes beyond work done once per year. This past Christmas, we started volunteering with the organization by supporting five families from our community by providing gifts from their wish lists while also meeting hygiene, cleaning and household needs.
Holmes Riseley staff members made individual cash donations, in addition to the donations made by our firm. We were also extremely blessed by the generosity of our clients who also made donations to support this program.
We are continuing our work with Big Brothers, Big Sisters year round. This spring we participated in the MegaBike fundraiser to “pedal for potential”. All proceeds from the event went directly to our local Big Brothers and Big Sisters to support their efforts in our community including funding and coordinating activities for local waitlist children, helping local children by matching them with mentors, and supporting local families by keeping their programming free to access.
Thank you to all of our generous clients who supported our team with donations and encouragement!
This summer, we planned an end of school carnival day celebration for the clients of this organization. We had a beautiful sunny day for face painting and balloon animals, snow cones and cotton candy, inflatable games and jousting, and a pizza dinner. It was a privilege to share this time with the “Bigs and Littles”, children on the waitlist for matches, and their families.
We look forward to partnering with this wonderful community agency again this Christmas to support their holiday initiatives.

Peterborough Lakers
Our firm was proud to sponsor the Peterborough Lakers this season, and had a blast handing out clappers to help the community get loud and cheer on our team! Go Lakers Go!
